The Al-Farsi family (the owners of the Kuwait Mega flag) have turned
their attention to weight lifting.

Here is a Youtube video showing a test flight lifting a quarter of a
ton...

Looks like a huge Nasawing modified for single line operation.

Looks bloody dangerous, too.

Craig and Volker are tallented and responsible designers.

Note that it was launced by only two people at the edge - no-one in
amongst the bridle.

It has 4 lines. The main one that takes the load. Two stability/
steering lines to make it easy to keep straight.

The 4th line is a trip line. If the main anchor gives, the trip line
collapses the kite. Note that having steered it into the ground,
Craig single-handedly kills the power.

All you can see on the video is the kite.
No idea of what it's connected to, what the steering or safety mechanisms
are.....

No idea of what it's connected to,
The main anchor was a tree on this occasion.

Usualy, earth-moving equipment is used.

Very impressive, well done to all involved.
However, my experience with soft kites, is that they provide little lift,
and loads of drag, when compared with a framed kite.

Mr Al-Farsi, next time please see how it goes with a train of Rokkakus,
Rollers or similar.
