I am considering upgrading from my Rascal stunt kite (http://
www.highasakite.com.au/sports_kites/rascal/rascall.htm) to something
with more freestyle ability.

Anyone got any comments on the Prism Hypnotist?

Any other suggestions for intermediate+ experience?

REx.

1 x Prism Stylus P3
1 x Premier Kites Speed Foil 1x
1 x High as a Kite Rascal Stunt Kite
1 x HQ Ready Sleddy
3 x miscellaneous deltas
4 x bargain shop stunters (they fly well!)
3 x bargain shop diamonds (they fly crap ...)

My only advice is to get the best kite you possibly
can and to look at how "modern" a kite is.

You'll progress much faster with a good kite so it's
definitely worth spending a bit more.

You don't say where you live... this can make a big
difference to the price/availability of a kite.

Governments, like diapers, should be changed often,
and for the same reason.

I live in Brisbane, Australia. Flying days are generally in the 10 to
20 knot wind range.

I am looking at kites in the same price point as the Hypnotist, which
is about $200 Australian.

I tend to buy kites online because the only decent kite store in
Brisbane (www.briskites.com.au) is a 45 minute drive away. I am happy
to buy kites from overseas, but need to factor in the freight to see
if it is worthwhile.

The Hypnotist is an older design and I have a feeling
you'll quickly outgrow it.

For $200 you might get a Prism E2 online (~139 USD
+postage). It's a much better kite...

Agree that the E2 is a much better kite.
If you can stretch a little more, Atelier Cesium would be even better....but
you can go on 'for ever'!!!!
Suggest you talk to the guys at your local kite shop. They seem to know what
they are talking about.
Best store in Aus I have found so far. Lucky you are only 45 minutes away.
I am about 1800 km away!!!

I agree! Jason and the team from Briskites will look after you
whether you are 45 minutes away or the other side of the country. I
have purchased from them a number of times in the past. Their service
is great, the freight costs are as good as you'll get, and their
prices are good too. In fact, they are cheaper for European kites
than kite stores in Europe!

They stock Prism, so if that's what you are looking for, give them a
try
