Just a note to let you know that I (and probably others) looked at the
link but saw mainly static kites.

Do people in Israel see kites as pretty objects or engineering designs
only or do they fly them too? It may be that it is easier for you to
take pics of the static kites and they get flown later and you simply
didn't take those pics.

I like to see kites flying (the main exception being our japanese
correspondent who shows it as an art and as art)

The photos were from an exhibition. You can see those (and other)
kites flying (or trying to) in the following links:

But you should also remember that the kites enthusiasts in Israel are
very few. So you will see the same kites in many photos.

Good winds,

I liked the pics in that link, real people having fun and kites flying.

If I look at IMG_0898 I can imagine the person thinking "If I can get
this off the ground I'll deserve a good meal"

IMG_0872 "OK, kite, time to get up and fly"

and so on, a connection between people and things that fly.

that I found a bit dull.

I am not saying my view is the only one but I think you will get a good
response if you show people interacting with kites rather than showing
the kites as items.

I am sure if other people feel differently they will say so.

Best wishes to anyone that makes something fly in Israel.
