I have never flown a quad kite and I do not even know anyone else who flies
kites, so this is the reason for this post.

A person, I do not know, has offered to sell me his quad kite for a about
half of what I see online for other quads. This seems to be a no-name quad.
What has stopped me is that the height is around 18", and the quads I have
seen usually have a height of around 30" or more.

Are my assumptions correct, if I think:

1: It may take more wind speed to fly it
2: and it may be more difficult to fly, since the movement of the handles
will affect the kite more than if the height was larger.

With the weather in NE Ohio, I probably would not be able to fly it for a
few more months to test it out.

Thanks

Is it a Revolution kite? If it is, it sounds like one of the "Speed Series"
of kites that they offer.
Not a beginners kite by any stretch but you can learn on it. You are correct
in both of your assumptions above.

Revolution used to include a VCR flight instruction tape with all of their
kites. Maybe someone here on the group has a spare? It will help greatly in
learning to fly a quad.

Hi Fred
Did you buy the quad and was it a Rev I have three Revs and love
them and one is a Super Sonic which is much faster then the 1.5 and
much more responsive. I suggest you watch IQuad videos on the net and
there are many other teams that can show you what is possible to do
with a Quad kite.

Let me know If I can help

I bought the kite for $40 and I am sure I only got what I paid for. !!!!!
It is a no name kite that has no height at all. (18") It will probably be
a monster to fly. Hope the weather gets better soon so I can give it a try.

I have to admit that the nylon material, construction, and carbon spars all
look good.

Hi Fred
Let us know how it flies for you I would suggest 5-12 mph winds to
start I fly my Rev Super Sonic and 1.5 SLE in winds from 5-20+
winds.

Great Flying
