Hi,
I am quite new to kite world and I enjoyed flying my small dual-line
kite for a while. I am looking for an upgrade to my kite and I am
thinkg to buy a 4-line power kite. I will use the kite mainly in the
beach and I will not use it as traction kite.

I am not sure about the size of the kite: Flexifoil Sting 1.4 or 1.7
meter.

Do you think that a 4-line kite is ok or should I stick to 2-line?

Do you think that 1.7 meter is more than enough or should I consider
something bigger?

Thanks
Zano

I don't think there's much difference between the two
in terms of size...

I've got a Sting, it's good fun to fly, flies well in a wide
range of wind and packs up small for convenient carry
(something which shouldn't be underestimated). The
only real downer is that sometimes I want a *bit* of
pull but the Sting is just too small...

Another good option would be a 2.3 meter Nasawing...
A NASA will be cheaper than a Sting and (in my humble
opinion) more fun to fly. NASAs are a bit slower in a
straight line then square kites but they have a lot finer
control in the curves. You can also let your friends have
a go without worrying that they're going to break it - NASAs
are as indestructible as kites get.

Me? If I had to choose just one of the two, I'd keep my NASA.

PS: The perceived speed of a kite is relative. If you want
more sensation of "speed" just use shorter lines....

PPS: If your local shop doesn't have them you can get NASAs
online at http://www.npw5.com/
