How large is "large"??
First off .. you are talking about dual-line foil kites .. and stacked kites
as well.
Second: the illustrations are obviously "not to scale" if you intend to put
these kites in "the high altitude wind of the troposphere." Launching these
kites will be a problem. Controlling them will have to be something other
than the illustration suggests .. you have both controlling lines coming out
of the end of each "arm" and sharing a single pulley. To control a dual line
stunt kite you need to move at least one of the lines back and forth (in and
out // out and back) relative to the other. Normally, a person flying a dual
line kite will pull on one line while letting out on the other .. but the
same effect can be had by just moving one line. However, you'll need
separate pulleys for each line because, as drawn, the lines will fight
against each other at the pulley.
Also .. since the lines will need to be considerably longer than the
illustration .. your "wheel" may need to be considerably larger as well.
Any small variation in control of each stack of kites will be magnified by
the distance of the lines. The illustration shown gives plenty of space
between adjacent stacks .. but in reality those kites could crash into
adjacent stacks if the lines are long enough and your control is not
sufficient.
What will these kites be made of?? UV will quickly weaken and destroy
conventional kite material if left exposed to the sun daily for weeks at a
time.
How will you keep aircraft from flying into the kite lines?
