Used to be an large festival - but the 'organisation' is more
interested in control of kiting then encouraging participation. The
only serious local kite shop is banned from participating. Well its a
joke really.

Ahh yes. I had seen a few glancing references to this on the web.

Me? I was just there to enjoy with my daughter. There could have been
one kite in the air and she would have been happy. I have never been
to any other kite festivals, so I had nothing to compare it against.

I hear the Coolum Kite Festival is pretty good.

Anyway, I am going to stay away from the kite politics -- and in the
meantime not join any kiting associations either. I am sure that it is
bad for the sport that people like me think this way ...

Bought another foil today ...
