What is the easiest kite to build and fly?

Hello,

I'm interested in building a kite and flying it, but I know that some
are easy to build, but they are hard to fly. Some are unstable once
they get into the air...nose-diving into the ground. What kite is the
easiest to fly among all those that I can build? A box kite? A
diamond kite? A flat kite?

Thanks

A sled is the easiest to build that will fly well.

It's cheap and easy - for a static kite.

Can you give us an idea what kind of kite you'd like?
You can have more than one though.
Colors, shapes, sticks, no sticks, manouverable.
There's zillions to pick from.

A lot of your question "Easiest to build" depends largely on
whether or not you know how to use a sewing machine and want to make a
kite out of modern materials like ripstop nylon or polyester ripstop,
etc... for your sail material. If you want to use modern sail materials,
fiberglass or carbon frames, and molded fittings, a simple delta is very
easy to make. If you don't know how to sew, kites such as sled kites are
easy to make and require no sewing. There are a few plans out there for
various kite designs that require no sewing, such as sled kites,
circoflex kites, tetrahedral kites, paper deltas or diamonds. Like
others have already said, sled kites are easy to make and fly good.

Good Luck!
