Giant silk kite?

Does anybody know how large the largest all-silk kite is/was? Thanks.

I seem to remember reading that they found a big, soft kite in one of
the Egyptian tombs.

It was pretty big. 1850 square feet from memory.

There was some debate as to whether or not it was a true kite or just
a triangular play-sail.

Ah, is that what fuelled the idea that the Egyptians used kites to
erect obelisks etc.

Almost as unlikely as a burst of activity on rec.kites :-)
