Great news Andreas
I was really dismayed to hear of the previous conflicts and standoff. To me
kites are an expression of unity, and even though competitions are sought
after activities for some people, many others simply have no interest.
Regardless of my feelings about the ultimate uses and purposes of kites, I
still feel it would be a sad day that people could not co-operate and
tolerate each others views and opinions and refuse to fly kites together.

So I hope you have a wonderful event, and hopefully one day, not too far
away, Australia can once again host a world cup class sport kite event. The
event at Lakes Entrance in Victoria many years ago (can't remember the year
now 94 maybe?) was one of the highlights of my life in kites. It was where I
came across true team flying, and that totally inspiring one man team Ray
Bethel.

STACK EuroCup 2004 rescued
An agreement has been reached between SIEC and the organisers of the
Euro Cup 2004 in Scheveningen, making it now possible for SIEC to
sanction this important event. The competition will be run to the STACK
Rules and Regulations. We are sure that the competition will be fair.

Thanks to the organiser's efforts to prepare a very good competition and
the commitment of all people involved, we all aim towards a very nice event.
